Another day in the neighborhood.
Another familiar face.

It’s a wonderful thing to sit down and catch up with good company — over good food. Just being able to pick up what was dropped (unintentionally) is pretty awesome. And feeling cared for by someone who drove so many miles to see you… well, it’s kind of flattering actually. OK, maybe that’s just my opinion, but, it was nice. (He had other people to see too, but my opinion sounds better.)

Lauro came down to SoCal for the week, and I was able to spend a nice dinner with him tonight at BJ’s in Burbank. He brought a bit of Davis with him and I felt so “at home,” so to speak — That I was reliving fond early college memories worth keeping in the back of my mind. It makes me sigh a little… to miss good company like that.

We can see how much we’ve grown, differed, stayed the same, and it was time that just felt like milliseconds. Even talking about our old and new crushes openly was fun since it was never brought up back North.

He’s working to get his DDS up north in San Francisco. Wow. Dr. Lauro — Nice ring to it. It’s a powerful thing — to learn; to WANT to learn. It makes me realize the more I shove my books aside for this CPA exam, the more I’ll lose out on wonderful opportunities later (but you probably already knew that). The one thing I’ll just continue to say to myself is, “It’ll get done.”

It will get done.

Cheers, to good company, good eats, and good times.
